While Dept 5 was operating at 2nd Alarm fire, county dispatch requested one engine to standby Dept 5's headquarters. Engine 22 responded with a total of 4 under the command of Lt. A. Hicks Jr. Car 1 and Car 6 also responded on the assignment. Just as mecfd units were arriving at Dept 5's headquarters county dispatch requested the standby co. to respond to a AFA at Wallkill Golf Course. After further investigation crews found no fire and alarm never activated from golf course, units went BIS and returned to standby. While enroute back to stand by, county dispatch sent the standby Co. on a second run to the area of Silver Lake Scotchtown Rd. for reported smoke behind the residence. Standby units responded and arrived on scene with no smoke showing and investigated. It was determined that smoke condition was coming from the 2nd Alarm fire two blocks away. Right after clearing the second incident county dispatch redirected Engine 22 to the scene of Dept 5's fire as per Command, due to a 3rd alarm assignment being sounded. Car 6 arrived first and contacted command, command requested Engine 22 to respond in off of Baldwin Hill to access the scene. Once all LDH was picked up Engine 22 crew picked up and returned to 27's Headquarters. All MECFD units went BIS, Engine 22 , Car 1 and Car 6 operated in Dept 5's first due area for about 3hours total.
