On Wednesday morning, The Mechanicstown Fire Department responded to a reported ATV accident in the woods off Goshen Tpke.

Rescue 19 and Brush Unit 123 responded.

Car 6 "command" was first on the scene, along with TOWVAC. After locating the victim, it was determined that he would need to be carried out.

FF/EMT Zerilli assisted in patient stabilization with TOWVAC, and Car 6 coordinated the extrication using a stokes basket and ropes.

The extrication required carrying the patient approximately a half mile back to the road, and using ropes to overcome a 50-70 degree incline.

FF Burlingame, FF Zerilli, Car 6, Car 3, and TOWVAC carried the victim.

DC-1, FF Smith, and FF Turner utilized a rope system to defeat the incline.

Patient was moved to the ambulance, and taken to Orange Regional Medical Center aboard TOWVAC.

Rescue 19, Brush Unit 23, and Car 6 picked up and returned.
