On Monday afternoon, Mechanicstown Engine Company 25 responded, first due, to a reported structure fire in the Crestwood Apartments, Silver Lake Fire District.

Car 6 "operations" arrived first with light smoke showing on the first floor, two story wood frame, garden style apartment complex.

Car 1 arrived shortly thereafter, assumed command.

Engine 125 responded with 4 interior, under command of LT T. Hicks.

Upon arrival, 125 picked up a hydrant, crews began stretching an 1 3/4 inch handline.

Operations confirmed smoke originating from burnt food on the stove, fire was out.

Positive pressure ventilation was established.

Crews check the floor above, negative findings.

Units picked up and returned.
